Presbyterian banner. (Pittsburgh, Pa.): July 27, 1864
Killed at Plymouth, N. C., April 18th, 1864, Lieut. Zachariah M. Cline, of Co. G,
103d Reg't. P. V., aged 25 years and 8 months; a citizen of Rural Valley, Armstrong
Co., Pa He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church of Rural Valley, Pa.
Mr. Cline was a member of a family that has been sorely visited since the war
commenced. Five sons were in the army. Two were in the battles before Richmond, in
1862, of whom nothing has yet been heard. Zachariah fell in North Carolina, while
nobly doing his duty. Two more are in the Potomac army; both were wounded in the
recent battles, one of whom is Capt. Cline, of Co. B, 155th Reg't P. V. May the
bereaved and afflicted family, in their troubles, look to the only source whence
cometh true comfort.
