SHANKLE  DOMER
  In a quiet but beautiful wedding at the parsonage of the Frederick 
Evangelical Lutheran church, which was attended by relatives and close friends 
of the couple, Miss Anna Evenore Domer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond 
Sweeney, Frederick, became the bride of Mr. Edward Steiner Shankle, son of Mr. 
and Mrs. Steiner G. Shankle, of Buckeystown, this afternoon at 3 o'clock.  The 
ceremony was performed by the paster, Rev. Dr. A[???] John Traver, and the 
double ring ceremony was used.
  The bride was attractively attired in a white semi-sports outfit with 
accessories to match and wore a shoulder corsage of baby's breath, delphinium 
and sweetheart roses.  She was attended by Miss Mary Heffner as maid of honor, 
who wore a costume similar to the bride.
  The groom had as his best man Mr. Lee Hoffman, Frederick.
  Following the wedding, which occurred on the bride's twenty-first birthday, 
the young couple left for a motor trip with Atlantic City as their ultimate 
destination.  On their return they will be at home after August 1 at 1705 E 
St, N. E., Washington, D. C.
  The bride is a graduate of the Thurmont High School, class of '32, while the 
groom is a graduate of the Frederick High School, class of '30, and also the 
Strayer-Bryant-Stratton Business College, Baltimore.  He is a yeoman, first-
class, in the United States Coast Guard, being stationed at present at the 
headquarters of that branch of the service in Washington.
  A surprise miscellaneous shower was given the prospective bride on Wednesday 
evening by her parents.  During the evening card games were enjoyed, with Mrs. 
F. M. Crutchley, Jr., Misses Margaret Swain and May Sweeney and Messrs. 
William Zimmerman and Elmer Singer winning prizes.  At the conclusion of the 
evening delicious refreshments were served.  Miss Dormer was the recipient of 
many attractive and useful gifts.  Those present at the shower included:  Miss 
Anna Evenore Dormer, and Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Shankle and Edward Shankle, of 
Buckyestown: Miss Mary Baker, Thurmont; Mrs. F. M. Crutchley, Jr., 
Westminster; Miss Pauline Burdett, Fallsont, Md.; Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Rodgers 
and daughter, Hagerstown; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Seger, Miss Elizabeth Sweeney, 
Mr. Arnold Simmons, Mr. James Simmons, Miss Mary Jane Baker, Mr. and Mrs. 
William Zimmerman, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hecket, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schrodel, 
Mrs. Sam Epley, Mrs. Milton Swain and daughter, Margaret; Mrs. Glenn Nikirk, 
Mrs. Travis Nikirk, Norman and Travis Nikirk, Mrs. Emory Biser, Miss Mary 
Heffner, Mr. Lee Hoffman, Mr. S. W. Rodgers, Mr. and Mrs. Raoymond Sweeney, 
Mr. Edward Shankle, Mr. and Mrs. George Abrecht, Jr., Elaine Simmons, Ruby 
Wolfe, Doris Jean Huston, Mary Sweeney, Raymond Sweeney, Jr., Francis Sweeney
