Miss Ruth Isabel Beatty Weds William R. Beatty In Evening Ceremony 

In First Presbyterian Church



Simply attired in street-length white crepe, Miss Ruth Isabel Beatty, daughter 

of Reed I.

and the late Florence (Minser) Beatty of 450 North Fourth Street, became the 

bride of William

Richard Beatty, son of Robert and the late Jennie Beatty, of 201 North Fifth 

Street, Friday

evening at 7 o'clock in the First Presbyterian Church.

Rev. Harry Burton Boyd, D. D., read the service before an altar banked with 

ferns and softly

lighted by many-branched candleabra.

Traditional wedding music was played on the organ by Mary Jo Beatty, sister of 

the bride.

Wilam Jean Baun sang "Because" and "I Walk Beside You," before the wedding 

procession

began.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. Her white crepe dress was 

complemented

by a hand-made, whitle maline hat with white satin streamers. She wore white 

net mitts and

carried orchids.

Miss Marjory Beatty, cousin of the bride, as attendant, was attired in a street-

length blue crepe.

She wore a pink maline hat, pink net mitts, and carried pink roses.

Best man was William Hazlett. Donald Beatty of Indiana, cousin of the bride, 

and Richard J.

Searle, of DuBois, ushered.

A reception took place in the church parlor after the ceremony. Later in the 

evening, the couple 

left on a wedding trip.

The bride is a graduate of Indiana Laboratory School and Indiana High School. 

She is now 

employed by Indiana Floral Company.

Her husband, a Navy veteran, is employed by the Indiana Countian.

They plan to make their home in Indiana.

Out-of-town guests at the ceremony were from Williamsport, Holiday's Cove, W. 

Va., Pittsburgh,

DuBois, and Blairsville.

Miss Daisy Gilbert of Indiana and Mrs. Mabel Minser of Indiana poured at the 

reception table.
