MRS. SUSAN CLAPPER BROWN

Widow of Samuel L. Brown, a life-long resident of Bloomfield township, died 
at her home near Bakers Summit at 4.10 o'clock Saturday afternoon of 
complications incident to advanced age, following an illness of two weeks.  
Mrs. Brown was a daughter of John and Barbara Clapper, both deceased, and was 
born in Bloomfield township on July 15, 1855.  She was united in marriage 
with Mr. Brown fifty-eight years ago.  Mr. brown died on Aug. 1, 1931.  She 
was the mother of ten children, six of whom are living,  Mrs. Alonza [sic]  
Helsel of near Bakers Summit, Mrs. Walter Snyder and Mrs. Jesse Pote of 
Roaring Spring, R.F.D., Mrs. Collins Kennedy of Hollidaysburg, Daniel Brown 
of Snoqualmie Falls, Wash., and Palmer, at home.  She is also survived by one 
brother, John Clapper, of Bloomfield township, also thirty-four grandchildren 
and twenty-three great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the Albright 
Church of the Brethren.  Funeral services will be conducted at the Holsinger 
Church of the Brethren near Bakers Summit on Tuesday afternoon in charge of 
her pastor, Rev. Jacob Kinsel.  The funeral cortege will leave the home at 2 
o'clock, following brief services.  Interment will be made in the Holsinger 
cemetery adjoining the church.
