WALTER G. BLACK, 64, of Worthington, collapsed and died suddenly of
a heart attack at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Roy McClay Store in
Cowansville.

A freight agent and telegraph operator for the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad at Cowansville, Mr. Black had formerly served as a telegraph
operator at the Fenelton station. He had been employed by the railroad
for the past 44 years.

Born at Rochester Mills, Indiana County, PA., Feb. 18, 1896, he was
the son of the late James E. and Minerva (PARSON(S)) BLACK. He had
been a resident of Worthington for the past 18 years, coming from
West Lebanon, Indiana County.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth (KING) BLACK; two daughters, Mrs.
George (Dora) HEPLER of Worthington RD 1, Mrs. Robert (Grace) CRILEY
of Fenelton RD 1; two sons, Arthur G. BLACK of Worthington and Eugene
BLACK of Angola, NY; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
