RALPH S. BENCE,  65, 431 Church St. Indiana died Thursday, July 11, 1974.



Born in Cherryhill Township on Jan. 30, 1909, he was a son of John L. and

Ada Ackerson Bence.



Mr. Bence had been engaged in farming until 1950, at which time he was

employed by the former Pennsylvania Railroad and worked until his retirement

in 1968. He was a member of the Graystone United Presbyterian Church,

Indiana, and the Foster Bible Class. He was also a member of the Indiana

County Fox and Coon Club.



Surviving are his widow, Alta Moorehead Bence, the following daughters: Mrs.

Richard (Lois) Babik, Johnstown; Mrs. Donald (Larue) Simpson, Indiana; Mrs.

Kenneth (Louise) Ager, Jeannette; Mrs. George (Lola) Pollock, Pittsburgh;

Miss Lucille, at home; seven grandchildren; a brother and a sister: Seward,

Clymer; and Mrs. Julius (Mary) Feuer, Queens, NY



Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today at the Bence Funeral

Home, Clymer, where services will be held Saturday at 2 pm with Dr. A.L.

Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Christus,

Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
