MRS. EMMA J. BENCE was laid to rest in the church cemetery following

services in Bethel Lutheran Church, near Dixonville, at 2:00 pm Tuesday. The

Rev. H. Wahl Pifer officiated. The widow of Jacob L. Bence, she died Friday

in the home of her son, Emery D. Bence, near Dixonville. She had lived in

that community for 80 years. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lydic, she was

born near Taylorsville, May 3, 1854. Surviving with the son mentioned are

four grandchildren six great-grandchildren a brother, Darl Lydic and Oliver

Bence.
