    Neva Baker

 Neva C. Baker, 94, of Cherry Tree
died Dec. 24, 1997, in Emeigh.
 The daughter of Charles C. and
Fanny Almina Studer Crooks, she
was born Oct. 18, 1903, in Port
Allegany.
 Mrs. Baker was a member of
Kinport Assembly of God, Cherry
Tree RD 2. She was employed as a
telegraph operator of New York
Central and Penn Central Railroad,
Cherry Tree, and retired after 29
years of service. Previously, she
was a licensed practical nurse and
worked at Jones Memorial Hospital,
Wellsboyo, N.Y.
 Surviving are a son, Harley L.
Sturdevant, Allentown, N.Y.; four
grandchildren: Amelia Captain,
Rose Schroeder, Gay Weaver and
Craig Sturdevant; and nine great-
grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Mark A., who
died in 1994; and brothers Ernest,
Raymond and Guy Crooks.
 Friends will be received Saturday
from noon until the time of the
funeral Service at 1 p.m. in the
Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc.,
Cherry Tree. The Rev. Robert Kur-
ka will officiate. Interment will
follow in the Uniontown United
Methodist Church Cemetery.
