             "Isaac S. Habbersett, 78, Pork Firm Head, Dies"

            MIDDLETOWN -- ISAAC S. HABBERSETT, 78 year-old
        chairman of the board of HABBERSETT Bros. Inc. and
        grandson of the founder of the pork products firm, died
        yesterday at his home on Knowlton rd., Middletown.
            Born in Middletown, he was the grandson and namesake
        of the late ISAAC S. HABBERSETT, a Middletown
        Township farmer who started manufacturing sausage and
        scrapple in 1863, a few hundred yards from the present
        plant on Knowlton rd. near Middletown rd.
            Mr. HABBERSETT educated in public schools in
        Middletown and entered the family business which is now
        in its fourth generation of ownership.
            A 32 degree Mason, Mr. HABBERSETT was a member
        of George W. Bartram Lodge of Media. He was president
        of the board of trustees and Sunday School superintendent
        at Mt. Hope Church.
            In addition to his wife, NELLIE GRIFFIN HABBERSETT,
        he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. CROSBY M.
        BLACK of Swarthmore, and Mrs. H. STANLEY GOFF of
        Middletown; a son, E. HARPER HABBERSETT, 3rd of
        Chester Heights; two sisters, Mrs. JAMES DALTRY of
        Media and Mrs. WILLIAM DUTTON of Garden City; three
        brothers, CHARLES, JOSHUA and E. HARPER, all of 
        Media, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
            Services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Mt. Hope
        Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
