          E. H. HABBERSETT, JR., OF PORK PRODUCT FIRM

            E. H. HABBERSETT, JR., 82, honorary board chairman
        of HABBERSETT Bros. Inc. and grandson of the founder
        of the pork products firm, died Thursday at his home,
        Middletown and Knowlton Roads, Middletown.
            Born in Middletown, he was educated in public schools
        and ran in the 1911 Penn Relays. He entered the family
        business in 1917.
            He was a member of the Lima United Methodist Church,
        a charter member of the Hershey Bible Class and a member
        of the South District and Eastern Pennsylvania Conference
        of the United Methodist Church for forty years.
            He was a member of the George W. Bartram Lodge
        No. 298, Benjamin Franklin Consistory, LuLu Temple and
        the ___ advisory board of the Provident National Bank. He
        was a charter member of both the High Twelve Club and
        the National Independent Meat Packers.
            He is survived by his wife, the former Esther HINKEL;
        a son, EDGAR R., Middletown; a step-daughter, Trudy
        HINKLE, at home; a brother, CHARLES W., Media; four
        grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
            The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Lima United
        Methodist Church, and burial will be in Mount Hope
        Cemetery, Aston. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday
        at the Rigby and Harting Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St.,
        Media.
            Memorial contributions may be made to the E. H.
        HABBERSETT, JR. Memorial Fund of the Lima United
        Methodist Church.
