                    MERION HABBERSETT
                 Business Partner's Wife

            MEDIA -- Mrs. A. MERION HABBERSETT, 63,
        wife of E. HARPER HABBERSETT, Jr., a partner in
        the meat business bearing the family name, died
        yesterday in Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia.
        Mrs. HABBERSETT was stricken suddenly Thursday,
        although she had been suffering from a heart ailment
        for several months.
            Born in Lima, she was the daughter of the late
        WALKER Y. and ANNIE YARNALL.
            Mrs. HABBERSETT, who lived at Middletown and
        Knowlton rds., had resided in the Middletown area all
        of her life.
            A lifelong member of Lima Methodist Church, she
        had been active in all the woman's organizations and
        had taught Sunday School at the church.
            In addition Mrs. HABBERSETT was a member of
        Lima Woman's Club and the Country Gardeners.
        Extremely interested in flowers, she had won several
        awards for exhibits in various flower shows. Mrs.
        HABBERSETT also had a fine collection of antiques.
            In addition to her husband, whose family founded
        the HABBERSETT business in 1863, she is survived
        by a son, EDGAR R. of WaWa and four grandchildren.
            Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the
        J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, Baltimore av. and
        Jackson st., Media. Rev. Benjamin GOULD, pastor
        of Lima Methodist, will officiate. Burial will be in 
        Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the
        funeral home tomorrow night.
