DELAWARE COUNTY REPUBLICAN

Death Notice DEATH OF A GOOD CITIZEN - Our obituary record this week announces
the death of WILLIAM EYRE, Esq. of Lower Chichester, who deceased, on Monday
last, in the 73d year of his age. It was our privilege to have an intimate
acquaintance with with Mr. << EYRE>> of many years standing, and in all the
relations of life we knew him as an upright man, a good citizen, and a kind
parent. To plainness of manners and an unassuming appearance, we may add that of
an open and undisguised manner of speech which some may have thought to be a
fault. It was his habit neither to [ ? ] speech, nor actions, and when he
spoke his sentiments were known. His life was an example of temperance and
virtue. Strictly honest in all his dealings, his integrity has never been questioned. Truly did he pursue the peaceful path in life's tempestuous journey. Travelers on the way through life should remember and imitate his many virtues.
