                      Sadie Douglas Funeral Rites

            Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for
        Mrs. SADIE DOUGLAS, wife of FREDERICK DOUGLAS,
        at the Second Baptist Church. Rev. Lewis Lee, pastor of
        the church was in charge.
            ALBERT COOK MYERS, of Moylan, widely known
        historian at whose home the deceased had been
        housekeeper for several years, paid a high tribute to
        Mrs. DOUGLAS' sterling qualities.
            Interment was in Thornbury cemetery. The pallbearers
        were: NATHAN YOUNG, EDWARD WASHINGTON, 
        GILBERT CUFF and WALTER COMMENGER.
            Mrs. DOUGLAS, a native of Virginia, died in the
        Chester Hospital on April 18, of pneumonia. Her survivors
        are her husband, two children and her mother, Mrs. ROSE
        SCOTT, of Virginia, with whom the children reside.
