CARTER, Florence May (nee Habbersett) 1948

      "Mrs. Florence M. Carter -- Member of Habbersett Family"

            Mrs. FLORENCE MAY HABBERSETT CARTER, of
        Hunter street, Lima, a sister of the owners of the
        HABBERSETT Pork Products Company, died at Chester
        Hospital Wednesday at 3.33 p.m. Death followed a
        month's illness. Mrs. CARTER was 65 on Nov. 14.
            Born in Middletown Township Mrs. CARTER lived
        in the county all of her life with the exception of a short
        time in the midwest with her husband, WALTER C.
        CARTER, who survives. He is employed at the
        Sharpe and Dohme Laboratories in Glenolden. The
        couple returned here in 1919.
            Mrs. CARTER formerly attended the Mt. Hope
        Methodist Church, Concord road.
            Surviving besides her husband are two daughters,
        Mrs. PRESLEY LAWRENCE and Mrs. ALVIN MOOR,
        both of Pennell road, Lima; two sons, AMOS M.
        CARTER, of Convent road, Rockdale and ELDON P.
        CARTER, of Knowlton road, Middletown Township;
        eight grandsons and three granddaughters.
            Also surviving are three brothers, ISAAC S.
        HABBERSETT, of Knowlton road and E. HARPER
        HABBERSETT, Jr., of Middletown road, Middletown
        Township, who together operate the Pork Products
        Company on Knowlton road, and CHARLES W.
        HABBERSETT, of 32 East Sixth street, Media, and
        three sisters, Mrs. J. CLARENCE BONSALL, of
        Middletown road; Mrs. WILLIAM H. DUTTON, of
        Garden City, and Mrs. JAMES W. DALTRY, of 411
        East State street, Media.
            Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., 
        at the Rigby Funeral Home, Baltimore avenue and
        Jackson street, Media. Rev. H. H. Truax, pastor of
        the Mt. Hope Church, will officiate. Burial will be in
        Middletown Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may
        call this evening at the funeral home.
