Obituaries

JOHN L. BURNS, 70, of 540 E. 15th St., Chester, died Thursday in 
North Chester Osteopathic Hospital, Philadelphia, after a brief 
illness.
  A native of Elkton, Md., he had lived in Chester some 50 years.  
He was the owner of the John L. Burns Furniture Repair Shop in 
Chester.  He was a member of the Artisans No. 48 and the Tuscarora 
tribe of the Redmen, No. 29.
  He is survived by his wife, Mary E.; two daughers [sic], Mrs. 
Mary Juftison [sic] of Chester, and Mrs. Helen Forrester of Media; 
two sons, John of Media, and Albert of Chster; a sister, Mrs. 
Katherine Hogland; two brothers, Andrew of Elkton, Md., and Joseph 
of Claymont; and 10 grandchildren.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from the George W. Maxwell 
funeral home, 1834 Meetinghouse Rd., Boothwyn.  Friends may call 
there Sunday evening.  Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery.

Burns Funeral Will Be Monday
  CHESTER - Funeral services for John L. Burns, 70, of 540 E. 15th 
St. will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the George W. Maxwell funeral 
home, 1834 Meetinghouse Rd., Boothwyn.  Viewing will be there from 
7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
  Mr. Burns died Thursday in a Philadelphia hospital.
  Surviving are his wife, Mary E.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Juftison 
[sic] of Chester, and Mrs. Helen Forrester of Media; two sons, John 
of Media and Albert of Chester; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Hoadland; 
two brothers, Andrew of Elkton, Md., and Joseph of Claymont, and 10 
grandchildren.
  Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery.


NOTES: Daughter Mary's last name is spelled Justison.  Wife's maiden
name was Mary Elizabeth Peters.
