        At the advanced age of 82 years ex-Sheriff William BAKER  died at 
  the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. Irwin CHEYNEY, Media, on Tuesday. 
  Mr. BAKER lived in Chester County practically all his life and served as Sheriff 
  from 1883 to 1886. He was a life-long Republican and was always active in 
  political circles. He was a veteran of the Civil War and belonged to the famous 
  Bucktails. Mr. BAKER was a member of General Henry R. Guss Post A Civil War 
  Veterans, and always took a great interest in the welfare of that organization. 
        His wife-died about five years ago. Two daughters survived him.
