Johnstown weekly Democrat. (Cambria County, Pa.) 1889-1916: Dec. 13, 1889
Died, the Rev. Dr. F. S. DeHass, who had been lingering so long at the point of
death, from cancer of the face, died at 11 o'clock Sunday night at his home in
Martin's Ferry, Ohio. He was born in Washington county, Pa., in 1821, and was
educated at Washington and Jefferson College. He entered the ministry of the
Methodist Episcopal Church and for many years was one of its most earnest workers.
He built the Metropolitan Church at Washington, D.C., and was Consul at Jerusalem
during the Grant Administration.
