The Somerset herald. (Somerset, Pa.): June 29, 1892
Hamilton Carroll, aged 17 years, a resident of Finley township, Washington county,
fell from a cherry tree a distance of twelve feet last Thursday, alighting on a
paling fence. One of the sharp points penetrated his leg, severing a blood vessel.
He died in about two hours. His sufferings were so intense that he begged of his
friends to kill him.
