The funeral services for Amos G. Critchfield, 94, of near Champion, who died Monday
morning, will be held Thursday afternoon with a prayer at the home of his son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arden Critchfield, at 2 o'clock followed by additional
rites in the Mount Nebo Church of God with Arnold Berg, pastor of the Kecksburg
Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Nebo cemetery. He was
born near Normalville September 28, 1856, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Critchfield and lived in that vicinity all his life. Surviving are three sons, James
and Arden of Champion and Elmer of Rector; four daughters, Mrs. Sadie Livengood, of
Blairsville, Mrs. Gertrude Kalp, of Acme, Mrs. Irene Phillippi, of Phillippi, W.
Va., and Mrs. Blanche Charles, of Detroit, Michigan; 33 grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death 11 years ago.
