Latrobe Bulletin (Latrobe, Pennsylvania) · 4 Nov 1947
James C. Crescenzo, 44 year old Penn hunter who was killed
by the accidental discharge of his 20-guage shotgun about
noon yesterday, was the husband of a former Latrobe
resident, it was learned today. Mrs. Crescenzo is the former
Martha Tarr, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Tarr
of Latrobe. She is a sister of Mrs. Foster Ferrenberg of
Latrobe. As reported yesterday, Crescenzo was instantly
killed when, after loading his gun, he set it on the ground
butt-first and in doing so, discharged it. State police said
today that there was no doubt that Crescenzo's death was
accidental. Coroner Adam S. Kepple has not yet set a date
for the inquest. The accident occurred on the Penn-Bushy Run
Road, near the Jeannette garbage dump. In addition to his
widow, Crescenzo is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clyde
Piovesan of Penn; by one granddaughter, Rebecca; by his
father Anthony, Sr., of Manor; and by the following brothers
and sisters: Elmer, Curtis and John, all of Jeannette RD 1;
Jesse and Mrs. Anna Pollitto, both of Manor; and Anthony,
Jr., and Daniel both of Jeannette. Funeral services will be
held at his late home in Penn on Thursday at 2 pm. Interment
will be in the Bushy Run Cemetery.
