Died at his residence, near Mt. Pleasant, Pa., on February 8th, of congestion of the
lungs, Col. Edward Braden, in the 64th year of his age. Mr. B. was a native of
Westmoreland County, and with the exception of a few years in Fayette County, spent
his life in it. He was twice married; first, in 1826, to Miss Lydia W., daughter of
James Hurst, Esq., who died in 1835; and about ten years since, to Mrs. M. Niccols,
who still survives him. In early life he became a member of the Unity Presbyterian
church. Mr. B. was an affectionate husband, a kind father to the orphaned children
who came-under his care, and a faithful friend...
