The Ligonier Echo (Ligonier, Pennsylvania) 19 January 1921   
Mrs. Mary Louisa Kuhns Ankney, wife of Wm. H. Ankney of
Ligonier township, and a daughter of the late Henry and Mary
Kuhns, died January 15, 1921, after an illness of several
months duration, aged 55 years, 11 months and 25 days,
having been born January 20, 1865. She was a member of St.
James Lutheran church of Ligonier, being baptized in the
church February 12, 1865, by the Rev. G. W. Mechling and was
received into membership by confirmation Dec 14, 1879, at a
service conducted by Rev. H. L. McMurray, assisted by Rev.
A. D. Potts, then located at Delmont. On April 17, 1900, she
was married to Wm. H. Ankney. Funeral services were
conducted at her late home by her pastor, Rev. Theo. Buch,
on Tuesday, January 18, at 1 o'clock. Interment in Valley
cemetery. She is survived by her husband and one son David
Earl and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Elizabeth
Carns of Youngstown; Mrs. H. H. Kuhns, Mrs. J. S. Griffith
of Ligonier; Mrs. H. C. Arbaugh of Lansing, Michigan; Misses
Lucinda and Agnes Kuhns of Ligonier township; John Kuhns of
Ligonier; Robert Kuhns of Ligonier township, and Baker Kuhns
of the state of Washington.
