The Ligonier Echo (Ligonier, Pennsylvania) 1919   
Mrs. Charlotte Ankney, a native of Somerset county and for
many years a resident of Ligonier, died June 24, 1919, of
general debility, aged 98 years, and two weeks, at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Alex. Markel. Her husband, David
Ankney, died in Ligonier 19 years ago. She is survived by
six daughters and four sons, Wm. Ankney of Ligonier township
being one of the sons; by 47 grandchildren and 60 great
grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The body
was brought to Ligonier Friday afternoon of last week and
interment made in Valley cemetery by the side of her
husband. The service at the grave was conducted by Rev.
Theo. Buch, pastor of the local Lutheran Church of which
Mrs. Ankney was a member.
