scrapbook by its original owner.  It was later photocopied and given to me in 2002.

MARY PATTERSON DeHASS

   Mrs. Mary Patterson DeHaas, aged 58 years, wife of D. Melvin DeHaas, died at the
family home in Fairchance Tuesday Morning, November 25, 1930, at 11:40 o'clock of
heart disease.  She was born in Yorkshire Center, N.Y., September 30, 1872, but had
resided in Fairchance for the last 20 years.
   Mrs. DeHaas was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Fairchance; of the
Laurette Chapter of Eastern Star and of the American Legion auxilliary of
Fairchance.
   In addition to her husband Mrs. DeHaas is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Earl
Creamer of Huntington, W. Va., a son, Dr. Ernest P. DeHaas of New Salem and a
brother, James Patterson of Benezette, Pa.  A son, D. Melvin DeHaas, Jr., was
accidentally killed in 1925. Her mother, Mrs. B. A. Booth of DuBois died
November 13, 1930.
   Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock,
Rev. C. D. A. Hoon, officiating, assisted by Rev. Harry W. Kilgore, of New Salem.
Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.
