FUNERALS FOR VICTIMS OF AUTO CRASHES

   Funeral services for the two young men killed in the accident at Acme crossing
Monday evening will be held this afternoon and Thursday afternoon, according to
arrangements announced last evening.
   Services for Ivan Everly will be held from the home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Everly, of Smithfield, this Wednesday, afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with
the Rev. Mr. Cogley, pastor, of the Methodist church, officiating.  Interment
will be in the Baptist cemetery at Smithfield.
   The services for D. Melvin DeHaas, Jr., aged 17 years, seven months and on day,
son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Melvin DeHaas, Sr., of Fairchance, will be held Thursday
afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family home with the Rev. C. D. A. Hoon,
officiating.  Interment will be in Maple Grove cemetery.  In addition to his
parents and one brother, Dr. E. P. DeHaas, of New Salem, young DeHaas is
survived a sister, LaVera, at home.  His father is manager of the Union Supply
store at Fairchance.
