This obituary came from an unknown paper. It was cut out and put into a
scrapbook by its original owner.  It was later photocopied and given to me in 2002.
It is a transcription of this photocopied original with no corrections to its
spelling or punctuation.

CLAYTON H. DAVIS

   Wounded in the head by shrapnel and gassed during the World War, Clayton H.
Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Davis of New Salem, died Saturday morning
from the effects of the gassing, from which he never fully recovered.  The young
man was a member of the New Salem Presbyterian church and an active member of the
Baraca class.  He was a member of the Jr. O. U. A. M. lodge at New Salem.  He
served with the 320th Infantry in the World War and belonged to the Veterans of
Foreign wars.
   Besides his parents he is survived by a brother and two sisters, John Davis
of Kittanning;  Mrs. Ethel Vance of Hillsboro and Mrs. Howard Brown of New Salem.
Mrs. William Mullen, another sister, is deceased.
   Rev. George K. Bamford will have charge of the funeral services which will be
held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at New Salem Presbyterian church.
