FRANK BANNISTER

Frank Bannister was born in Iowa in June 1850, and later moved with his
parents to Kansas. About the year 1880 he came with his mother and two
brothers to Idaho, settling on a homestead taken by his mother on Little
Willow Creek where they remained until eleven years ago when his mother died.
Then he came to Payette and was united in marriage to Anna F. Stevens. He at
this time purchased the Frank Crighton home on Lover's Lane where they made
their home until the time of his death. Mr. Bannister health had been failing
for some time and the latter part of April he went to Arizona thinking to find
relief, but the dread disease, the great white plague, had too firm a hold and
the end came on Saturday, May the 8th. His remains were brot back to Payette
where the funeral services were held from the home at 2:30 Wednesday, May
12th, conducted by Rev. H. K. Wallis, pastor of the Methodist Church. Besides
a wife he leaves to mourn his departure three brothers and one sister. Of the
deceased we can say he was a man of good standing in the community. He was
honest and upright in all his dealings and will be missed by many friends in
this vicinity.
