Payette Pioneer Called By Death

Mrs. Christine Anna Asmussen Young 89, who resided in this city since 1881 and 
was among the city's oldest pioneers died at her home Wednesday following a 
long illness.
Funeral services will be held at the Landon-Shaffer funeral home Friday 
afternoon with the Rev. Paul Felthouse of the Baptist church in charge.  
Interment will be in the Riverside cemetery beside the grave of her husband.
Mrs. Young was born in Copel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on Feb. 12, 1859.
In 1881 at the age of 22 in company with her brother, Carl Asmussen she came to 
this city, known at the time as Boomerang.  On March 6, 189? she was married to 
Lee Young, who preceded her in death in 1923.
She is survived by two sons, August Young, of Boise and Eddie C. Young, of 
Payette; and one daughter, Mrs. John Welsh also of this city; six grandchildren 
and fourteen great grandchildren.
