Verda M. Alden

NEW PLYMOUTH
Verda Mae Alden, 72, of New Plymouth, died Thursday in a Payette nursing home. 
Services were conducted Tuesday in Shaffer-Jensen Chapel in New Plymouth, by 
Eldon Holmes. Interment followed in Parkview cemetery in New Plymouth.

She was born Aug. 14, in Silt, Colo. to Lee and NOra Sallee. She was reared and 
educated in the Divide Creek, Colo. area. She married Patrick Joseph Alden June 
23, 1931, in Glenwood, Colo. They left Colorado in 1950 and traveled to various 
parts of the county due to her husband's work. They moved to Boise in 1951, to 
Meridian in 1952, and to New Plymouth in 1967. She was a member of the 
Jehovah's Witnesses. 

She is survived by her husband of New Plymouth, three sons, John Edward of 
Puyallup, Wash., William Douglas of New Plymouth and Robert Lee of Molalla, a 
daughter, Mrs. Andy (Patsy) Markwell of New Plymouth; a brother, James Sallee 
of Gold Hill, Ore.; two sisters, Ethel Hamilton and Martha Terrell, both of 
Rifle, Colo.; and 14 grandchildren.
