H. Alden of this city Saturday, December 10, after a brief illness. Deceased was born May 27, 1849 at Redfield, New York. He came west with his parents to Walcott, Minn., in 1854, and in December 1888 he came to Roseberg, Oregon, where he lived for 12 years, coming to Payette in 1900. For 27 years he has lived a clean, honorable life among the people of this community. He was a descendent of John Alden, of the 8th generation, who came over with the Pilgrim Fathers in the Mayflower. He is survived by two brothers, Willard and Elmer Alden. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Sunday and were in charge of the pastor Rev. Fraser. Interment took place at Riverside cemetery.
