 Betty Lou Allen, 71, of Nashville died May 2, 2008 at Smith Northview Hospital 
in Valdosta.
 Born July 22, 1936 in Tift County to the late Joseph and Irda Walker Laster, 
she was a retired bookkeeper of over 30 years, a first-degree black belt in 
Taekwondo, an avid reader and quilter. She loved crafts, camping, and making 
trips to Las Vegas, Nev.
 Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Robert Webb of 
San Leon, Texas, Judy and Douglas Statton of Martin, Mich., Beth and Allan 
Roberts of Nashville; a son and daughter-in-law, Zane and Kim Allen of Brinson; 
a sister-in-law, Sandra Laster of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, 
Butch and Diane Laster of Albany and Bobby and Marilois Laster of Kasilof, 
Alaska; eight grandchildren, Casey Vanderploeg, Kardi Comp, Jessica Schrepper, 
Jennifer Foster, Jalissa Stratton, Jared Stratton, Tyler and Seth Allen; and 17 
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Laster.
 Funeral services were held May 6 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Albritton-Beaumont 
Funeral Directors in Tifton with the Rev. Billy Sumner officiating.
 Interment was in Lawrence Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Jared Stratton, Jalen Moore, Casey Wanderploeg, Josh Salter, 
Ben Salter, John Laster and Lloyd Foster, III.
 Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
