 Ophelia Akins, 84, of Sylvester died August 13, 2007 at Sylvester Nursing Home.
 Born Nov. 11, 1922 in Clinch County to the late George and Emily Akins Simms, 
she was a homemaker and member of Willacoochee Church of God. She was married 
to the late Grady Akins.
  Survivors include daughter and son in law, Margaret and Noah Taylor of 
Okeechobee, FL; three sons and two daughters in law, Donald and Glenda Akins 
and Terry and Jane Akins all of Sylvester, Randall Akins of Quitman; sisters, 
Eva Exum and Nadine Exum, both of Nashville; brothers, A.W Simms and Howard 
Simms, both of Macon; sever grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-
great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held August 16 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein 
Funeral with Rev. Noah Edgar Taylor officiating. Pamlin Taylor and Sandy 
Winkler sang "This is What Heaven Means To Me" and "You Ain't Seen the Last of 
Me."
 Interment was in Bennett Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Ronnie Winkler, Gary Taylor, Garrett Taylor, J.H. Exum, Zane 
Akins, Bucky Akins.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
