J.B. Barrineau, Well Known County Man, Passed Away Friday
	John Britton Barrineau, well known and highly regarded citizen of 
Berrien County, passed away at his home near Alapaha last Friday morning, 
February 22, at 1 o'clock after a long illness, due to his advanced age.  He was 
84 years of age.
	The deceased was born in Lake City, S.C. and moved to this county when a 
young man.  He was a prosperous farmer and served around twenty (years) on the 
board of county commissioners.  During his fifty years of residence here he took 
an active part in all public enterprises and the up-building of his county.  He 
was a Mason and was always lending his support and influence to his fellow men.  
His wife, the former Annie Askins, of Lake City, S.C., preceded him in death in 
1936.
	Funeral services were held at the Alapaha Methodist Church Saturday 
afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Rev. C.T. Lawhorn, pastor, conducted the services in 
the presence of a large assemblage of friends and relatives.  Interment was in 
the Barrineau family cemetery near Alapaha.
	The Masons had charge of the services at the graveside and served as 
pall-bearers and the Donaldson-Bowen Funeral Home of Nashville had charge of all 
arrangements.
	The survivors include two sons, W.L. Barrineau of Macon, and C.R. 
Barrineau of Fitzgerald; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Brown of Ocilla, Mrs. W.B. 
Barrineau of Alapaha, and Mrs. J.N. Maples of Miami, Fla.; also twenty-three 
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
