Before me Thomas Ker Deputy Register for the probate of wills and 
granting letters of administration in and for the County of Huntingdon 
Aforesaid personally appeared John Weight and Samuel Johnston the two 
Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing, who upon 
their solemn oaths respectively do say that they were personally 
present and did see and hear the testator Peter Pool sign, execute and 
declare the foregoing Instrument of writing in the German language as 
and for his last will and testament and that the said subscribing 
witnesses did set their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of 
each other and in the presence of the testator and at his instance and 
request and the said Peter Pool was at the time of sound and disposing 
mind memory and understanding to the best of their judgments and 
belief.

Translation of the last will and testament of Peter Poole Deceased.

In God's name Amen - 
  I Peter Poole of Tyrone Township, Huntingdon County in the State of 
Pennsylvania, being sickly & weak in body but sound and of good 
understanding and memory thank God therefore remembering the 
uncertainty of my life and that a time is appointed for all men since? 
to die.  Therefore I make and order this my last will & testament after 
the following manner namely -
  In the first place I commend my soul in the hands of God who gave it 
and my body to the earth who is the mother of all in order to be buried 
after a decent and Christian like manner.  And as to such worldly 
property wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give 
and dispose of the same in the following manner.  It is my will and do 
hereby order and direct that my wife Williamina two beds and bedstead 
and bedclothes thereto belonging one chest, six chairs one table one 
cow two sheep, one hog - the loom with the gears thereof the half of 
the Kitchen Furniture the house in which we live.  She shall also have 
half the garden the right to the watter and she shall have a stable for 
her cow and sheep and my said wife shall have the half of the rent or 
income of the plantation where we now live but should the half not be 
sufficient for her support then she shall have all the rent during her 
lifetime but should my said wife Williamina marry again then she shall 
have no more of the rent - the above mentioned articles shall be 
appraised to her and if she marries again then she shall give them back 
again as good as they now are and further she shall take nothing with 
her but one of the beds and bedstead.  My son Peter shall have one bed 
and bedstead.  My beloved daughter Margaret shall have one bed and 
bedstead.  My beloved daughter Magdalena shall have one bed and 
bedstead.  Jacob Tiprey shall have fifty dollars out of the share of my 
beloved daughter Elizabeth and her children shall have the remainder.  
My plantation situated in Tyrone Township, Huntingdon County adjoining 
the Juniata River and land of Samuel Johnston Peter Swine shall be sold 
by my hereafter mentioned executors after the death of my wife to the 
best advantage and my executors or the longest lived of them shall give 
a good right to the purchaser or purchasers.  And my children shall all 
be heirs alike of the sold property after the sale.  And I do appoint 
and choose my trusty friends Moses Robison & Wilimina Pool of this my 
last will & testament.  And I do recall all other former wills and 
testaments which are made by me before this.
  Subscribed & acknowledged by the before mentioned Peter Pool as and 
for his last will and testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto 
set my hand and seal written the 25th day of October in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three in our presence -

  I Peter Swine do solemnly & sincerely affirm that the foregoing is a 
true translation and interpretation of the last will and testament of 
Peter Pool deceased this day proven before the Deputy Register for the 
probate of wills and granting letters of administration for the County 
of Huntingdon to the best of my judgment & belief.

Williamina Pool and Moses Robison Ex'ors of Peter Pool Dec'd:

Memorandum 
  Letters testamentary were this day granted to Williamina Pool & Moses 
Robison of the Estate of Peter Pool Dec'd.  Inventory to be exhibited 
on or before the 4th of June next And a just and true account, 
calculation and reckoning of their said administration on or before the 
4th day of May A.D. 1825 or when thereto legally required.
  Given under the seal of office the 4th of May A.D. 1824
