LAST WILL OF DR. ADAMS MCPHERRAN, DECEASED

Know all men by these presents, That I Dr. Adams McPherran of Franklin 
Township, Huntingdon County & State of Pennsylvania being in ill health 
but of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my 
last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me 
heretofore made. And as to my worldly estate and all the real and 
personal property or mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed or 
to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise and 
bequeath and dispose thereof in the following manner, to wit:
 First: my will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall by 
my Executors hereinafter named, be paid out of my estate as soon after 
my decease as shall by them be found convenient.
 Item: I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Eliza Jane 
McPherran all my household & bedding furniture expecting a bed to each 
of my daughters when they get married. I also give to her the use, 
improvement and income of my dwelling house, land and its appurtenances 
on which we now live, to have and to hold the same for and during her 
natural life and also the one third of the income of my estate which is 
to be in lieu of dower and if not sufficient to support her, to get 
what will be sufficient. I give and bequeath all the rest and residue 
of my estate, real personal or mixed of which I shall die seized or 
personal or to which I shall be entitled at my decease, I give, devise 
and bequeath to be equally divided between and among all my children, 
to wit: Harriet E. McPherran, Porter W. McPherran, W. Scott McPherran, 
Clara Jane now married to Dr. W. C. Beam, John A. McPherran, share and 
share alike, the Book accounts that I have charged against each to be 
accounted for and deducted from each ones share expect or the account 
of W. Scott McPherran which is to be One hundred Dollars less than the 
amount on account of his being lame.
 And lastly, I do nominate and appoint my said son Porter W. McPherran 
and my neighbor Abraham Weight to be the Executors of this my last Will 
and Testament. In Testimony Whereof, I the said Adams McPherran have to 
these presents, my last will and testament, I have subscribed my name 
and affixed my seal this eighteenth day of November in the year of our 
Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty. (1880)

Signed, Sealed, published & declared by the said Dr. Adams McPherran as 
and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his 
request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have 
subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

 This 29th day of November A. D. 1880, before me, J. D. Kuntzelman, 
Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of 
Administration in and for the County of Huntingdon, personally came 
John S. Isett and E. W. Graffies, the subscribing witnesses to the 
above Will and being duly sworn according to law, did depose and say, 
that they were present and saw and heard Dr. Adams McPherran the 
testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing 
instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will, and that 
at the time of so doing he the said testator, was of perfect and sound 
mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge, 
observation and belief.

Huntingdon County, Ss:

 Before me, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of 
Administration, in and for said County, personally appeared Abraham 
Weight and Porter W. McPherran, who, being duly sworn, doth depose and 
say that Dr. Adams McPherran, late of Franklin Twp died on or about the 
18th day of November 1880, before 7:48 o'clock P.M. and further saith 
not.

Letters Testamentary issued on the estate of Dr. Adams McPherran, 
deceased

On this 29th day of November A. D. 1880, Letters Testamentary in common 
form were issued to Abraham Waite and P. W. McPherran, on the estate of 
Dr. Adams McPherran, late of Franklin Township, deceased.
