Will of Jacob Anspach names wife, living children and son-in-law Van Buren
Hirst. Jacob was a resident of Jackson Township. His farm was NW of
McAlevey's Fort.
LAST WILL &C., OF JACOB ANSPACH, DEC
In the name of God, I Jacob Anspach of the County of Huntingdon, and State of
Pennsylvania being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish
this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any
time made.
As to such estate as it hath pleased God to interest me with, I hereby
dispose of the same as follows:
I first direct that my debts shall be paid out of my estate.
To my beloved wife Catharine Anspach, I direct that my son John Anspach shall
pay an annual dower of thirty five dollars; and that my son Luther Anspach
shall pay to her an annual dower of six dollars.
I further direct and appoint that she shall have the interest of all my real
estate during her natural lifetime.
I also give and bequeath to her my personal property in the house, and direct
that she give of the same, what can be conveniently spared, to my daughter Ada
Anspach, recently married. I further direct that the three hundred dollars,
allowed my wife by common law, be paid to her out of the proceeds of the first
sale of any of my real estate.
To my son Ellis Anspach, I direct that my son John Anspach shall pay three
hundred dollars, as follows: One hundred dollars in & during the year A.D.
1890; One hundred dollars in & during the year A.D. 1891; One hundred dollars
in & during the year A.D. 1892.
To my son John Anspach, on account of the payment by him of three hundred
dollars to my so Ellis Anspach, and the payment of an annual dower to my
beloved wife Catharine Anspach during the term of her natural life (both of
which payments are mentioned in the body of this my last will,) and on account
of services rendered after the age of his majority, and the payment of taxes
for me, I hereby relinquish and now cancel the two bonds given by him to me-the
one for one thousand dollars given August twenty sixth A.D. 1881, the other for
five hundred dollars, given August twenty sixth A.D. 1881.
I also hereby direct that my Executor shall put to sale, when discerned
advisable (if not sold in my natural lifetime, the west end of my farm,
embracing One hundred and seven acres, more or less, and that the proceeds
remaining thereof, after the payment of my just debts, at interest, and that
the annual interest thereof be paid to my beloved wife, yearly during the term
of her natural life.
I hereby appoint my son-in-law van Buren Hirst as agent to collect and pay
over to my beloved wife, the annual interest due her from the proceeds of my
real estate.
To my son Luther Anspach, I hereby relinquish and cancel the bond given by
him to me in the sum of two hundred dollars.
Whatever may remain of personal property, stock on the farm or proceeds of
the sale of real estate at the decease of my beloved wife, I hereby give and
bequeath the same to my children, no living, share and share alike, in such way
and manner as that what my daughters Amelia, Susanna, Mary Elizabeth, and Ada
Linn have already received, together with what they shall hereafter receive,
shall make an equal amount to each.
And lastly I do nominate and appoint my son John Anspach to be the executor
of this my last will and testament.
In Testimony Whereof, I the said Jacob Anspach have to this my last will and
testament subscribed my name and offered my seal this eleventh day of November
A.D. 1884.

This 12th day of August A.D. 1887, before me Jno S Bane, Register for the
Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County
of Huntingdon, personally came R.M. Burney, and on the 19th August A.D. 1887,
came D.B. Smith, the subscribing witnesses to the above Will, and being duly
sworn according the law, did depose and say, that they were present and saw and
heard Jacob Anspach, the testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare
the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will, and
that at the time of so doing he the said testator was of perfect and sound
mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge, observation and
belief,

Before me, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of
Administration, in and for said County, personally appeared John Anspach, who,
being duly sworn, does depose and say that Jacob Anspach late of Jackson
Township, died on or about the 9th day of March 1887, at 10:30 O'clock A.M. to
the best of his knowledge and belief. Sworn and Subscribed this 12th day of
August A.D. 1887, before Jno S Bane, Register// John Anspach
Letters Testamentary issued on the estate of Jacob Anspach, deceased
On this the 19th day of August A.D. 1887, Letters Testamentary in common form
were issued to John Anspach, on the estate of Jacob Anspach, late of Jackson
Township, deceased.
