The Carnesville Herald May 27, 1943
On May 1st Mrs. Stewart D. Brown took over the office of Chairman of the Home
Service Department of the Franklin County Chapter of the American Red Cross. She
took the place of Mrs. Brantley Little of Carnesville who has held the office
efficiently for two years but recently resigned because of major operation.

Mrs. Brown will personally handle all matters pertaining to home service relief
work and matters involving all services to Franklin County men in the armed forces
and their families.

Being Chapter Chairman too, makes the working doubly pressing for Mrs. Brown and
it is her desire that you will be considerate of the fact for the work is growing
more strenuous every day.
