Lynne (Hooper) BARAN, 39, of Durham, N.C., died suddenly Thursday, May
10, 2001, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Born July
10, 1961, in Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of Dr. Robert and
Carolyn (Davis) Hooper, who survive in Hockessin, Del. She is also
survived by her husband of 14 years, Michael Baran, and two children,
Steven and Rachel, both at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs.
Jay (Laura) Sawyer, Logan, Utah and Mrs. Josh (Karen) Gray, Lake City,
Colo., and her grandmother, Almeda B. Hooper of Huntingdon. Her
grandmother, Dorothy Port Davis of West Chester, died Thursday. Mrs.
Baran was a 1983 graduate of the University of Delaware School of
Nursing. She had resided in Durham since 1983 and was a member of the
Holy Infant Catholic Church. She loved her preschool students and formed
a special bond with all whom she touched. A funeral Mass was held in
Durham, N.C.
