Hazel E. ANGLE, 91, of 10127 Letzburg Rd., Greencastle, died Saturday,
May 12, 2001, at 6:05 a.m., in the Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro. Born
March 27, 1910, in Montgomery Township, Franklin County, she was a
daughter of the late J. Russell and Leah Nora (Grosh) Angle. Surviving
are two sisters and two brothers: Eva M. Oskorip, Ginter; Thelma M.
Mijanovich, Hagerstown, Md.; Henry C. Angle, Lemasters; and Fred G.
Angle, Saltillo. Several nieces and nephews survive. Miss Angle was a
graduate of the former Lemasters High School in Lemasters, and the
Shippensburg Normal School, now Shippensburg University. She taught at
several rural schools, including Rising Sun, Worleytown and Pine Field.
She later taught mathematics at Tussey Mountain High School and coached
girls' basketball. She retired in 1974. Miss Angle was a member of St.
Stephen's United Church of Christ in Upton, where she taught Sunday
School for 70 years. She was active in the Montgomery Township election
board and the Greencastle Senior Center. Her personal interests were
gardening and crafts. For many years, she entered canned and baked
goods, crafts and flowers in the Franklin County Fair and State Farm
Show, and won a total of 1,500 ribbons. A private graveside memorial
service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, at the
convenience of the family.
