Michael W. AURAND, 49, of Mount Union, died unexpectedly April 27, 2004,
at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born Nov. 14, 1954, in
Mount Union, he was the son of the late William W. and Gladys K.
(Mohler) Aurand. He was united in marriage to Diana D. "Dee" (Mentzer)
Aurand. He is survived by his wife at home and four sons and one
daughter: Michael W. Aurand Jr.,and his wife, Roberta, of Mapleton;
Travis J. Aurand of Mill Creek; Lisa Gifford, and her husband, Jason, of
Fort Meade, Md.; Tim Brown and his wife, Carrie, of Wichita, Kan.; and
Todd Brown at home. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Amber and
Jacob Gifford and Mikayla and Abigail Aurand. One brother and three
sisters survive: Bob M. Mohler, and his wife, Paula, of Huntingdon; Mrs.
Roger (Penny) Henry of Mount Union; Vickie Stitt of Huntingdon; and Mrs.
Harry (Darlene) Deline of Mount Union. Mr. Aurand was a 1973 graduate of
Mount Union Area High School. He served in Germany with the United
states Army. He was currently employed as a special Machinist at Bonney
Forge in Mount Union, where he had 15 years' service. Prior to that he
worked for Asplund for 15 years. He loved spending time with his
grandchildren, enjoyed sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Funeral services will be held April 30, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral
Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Gordon Ross officiating. Interment will
be made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg.
