Marvin L. BANKS, 72, of Mill Creek, died at 4:52, a.m. Saturday, May 10,
2003, at J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He had been ill for
the past few years. Born July 10, 1930, in Mount Union, he was a son of
the late Roy and Grace (Wileman) Banks. He was married to the former
Jeanette M. Estep Jan. 10, 1952, in Virginia. Mrs. Banks survives at
their home. Three daughters and five sons survive: Linda Reeder,
Huntingdon; Kenneth Banks, Mill Creek; Doris Miller, Mount Airy, Md;
Wilma Reeder, Mill Creek; Marvin M. Banks, Mapleton; Tim Banks, Milton,
Fla.; Randy Banks, Mill Creek; and Clair Banks, Mill Creek. There are 25
grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Two brothers survive: Dale
Banks, Mill Creek, and Roy Banks, Huntingdon. He was preceded in death
by one daughter, Kathy L. Price, and two brothers, Duane Banks and Gary
Banks. Mr. Banks was of the Protestant faith. He was a sawyer for over
40 years and was well-known throughout Huntingdon County by most loggers
and lumbermen. Following his retirement from the lumber business in
1994, he still enjoyed making wood crafts at his Mill Creek Home.
Graveside services and committal will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 13,
at Mountainview Cemetery, Mill Creek, with the Rev. Raymond C. Crownover
officiating.
