Ann C. AFIRCA, 9, Park St., China Grove, N.C., formerly of 629 Warm Springs Ave., Huntingdon, and Naples, Fla., died Friday, June 28, 2002, at the Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, N.C. Born in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Sara Elizabeth (Daugherty) Cunningham. She was married to Elmer Blair "Si" Africa Feb. 24, 1934, at the Marble Collegiate Church, New York, N.Y., by the Rev. Dr. Norman Vicent Peale. Mr. Africa preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1989. She is survived by one son and daughter: John C. Africa, Smithfield Twp., Huntingdon, and Sally Fearn, Orange City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a niece. She was preceded in death by two sons, James D. Africa and Michael Africa. Mrs. Africa was a member of the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Huntingdon. A private memorial service was held at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Peter J. Naschke officiating. Interment was made in Riverview Cemetery, 245 Standing Stone Ave., Huntingdon.
