Isabelle F. BASHORE, 78, formerly of Mapleton and most recently of
Fredericksburg, Lebanon County, died at 7 am. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at
the Malta Home, Granville, following an extended illness. Born Sept. 20,
1924, in Mapleton, she was a daughter of Clarence W. and Mildred E.
(Johnston) McMullen. Her mother survives in Mapleton. Her father
preceded her in death. She was first married to Junior E. Enck, who
preceded her in death March 8, 1992. She then married Guy V. Bashore,
who survives in Fredericksburg. One daughter, Mrs. William (Susan M.)
Rivers of Lewistown, survives. There are four grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. One brother and three sisters survive; Clarence M.
"Bill" McMullen and Gladys Cohenour, both of Mapleton, Jean Shafer of
Mount Union, and Elizabeth "Betty" Lash of Harrisburg. She was preceded
in death by four infant sons; Paul Enck; twin sons, James J. Enck and
John J. Enck; and Walter B. Enck. She was also preceded in death by one
grandson, one brother, Merrill McMullen, and one sister, Anna Mae
McMullen. Mrs. Bashore was a member of the Cedar Crest-Lucy Furnace
Chapel, Mount Union, R.R.. and the Jonestown Bible Church,
Fredericksburg. She retired in 1980 from Hershey Park following several
years employment. Prior to that, she had worked at the Masonic Homes,
Elizabethtown, and for the Harrisburg City School District. She enjoyed
gardening, baking and canning. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 3, at the Cedar Crest-Lucy Furnace Chapel, Mount Union,
R.R., with Pastor Jeff Winstead officiating. Interment will be made in
the IOOF Cemetery, Mapleton.
