Lillian Elizabeth BARD, 79, of 307 Country Club Road, Mount Union, died
at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Westminster Woods. Huntingdon.
Born Oct. 18, 1923, in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, she was a
daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha (Whitsel) Booher. She married Max
H. Bard Aug. 20, 1952, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Bard preceded her in death
Dec. 17, 1994. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs.
Richard K. (Marilyn) Ellis of Aurora, Col., and two grandsons, Bryan and
Kevin Ellis. Five sisters survive; Verna M. Eberman, Mount Union; Hazel
A. Faust, Denver, Col.; Mrs. Duane (Thelma R.) Drake, Mount Union, R.R.
1: Mrs. Paul (Helen L.) Miller, Cornwall; and M. Jane Stewart,
Lancaster. She was preceded in death by the following brothers and
sisters; Linnie M. Booher, John B. Booher, Mildred V. Booher, Elmer
Booher, Grace Hardy, and an infant brother, Samuel Booher. Mrs. Bard was
a member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Union. She was a
graduate of Mount Union High School and Shippensburg State Teachers
College. She taught first grade 18 years. Funeral services will be held
at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount
Union, with the Rev. Robert Davidson officiating. Interment will be
made in Mount Union Cemetery.
