Zelda Jane ABBOTT, 91, formerly of 1006 Mifflin St., Saxton, died at
9:07 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2002, at the Marklesburg home of her daughter,
Alda Hetrick, following an extended illness. Born April 21, 1911, in
Lincoln Twp., Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of Harry and Nancy
(Gregory ) Brindle, both deceased. She was united in marriage to John M.
Enyeart in 1928. Mr. Enyeart preceded her in death in 1967. In 1969, she
married Luther J. Abbott, who preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Abbott
is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Alda) Hetrick of
Marklesburg, with whom she resided for two years, and Mrs. Robert
(Audrey) Oaks Jr. of James Creek. She is also survived by six
grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one
step-great-granddaughter, one great-great-grandson and one
step-great-great- granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one son,
Milton John Enyeart; one granddaughter, Trudy Hetrick Baker; one
stepson, Donald Abbott, and one stepdaughter, Anita Abbott. She was the
last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in
death by four sisters: Mary Parks, Martha Treece, Minnie Fisher and
Margaret Hammon, and six brothers, Herman, Jesse, Albert, George, Harry
and Charles Brindle. Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Saxton United
Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the
Marklesburg Volunteer Fire Company. She and her husband, John Enyeart,
worked in dairy farming in Aitch for over 35 years. She enjoyed
crocheting and visiting with neighbors. Funeral services will be held at
11 a.m. Monday, July 8, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton,
with Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. Interment will be made in
Entriken Cemetery.
