George Thomas "Tom" ARNOLD, 65, of James Creek, died Saturday, Nov. 23,
2002, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Born in Bedford Oct. 10, 1937, he
was a son of the late George Kenneth and Mary Laverne (Stultz) Arnold.
He was united in marriage to the former Margaret Jane "Peg" Sheehan
July 19, 1975, in Hollidaysburg. Mrs. Arnold survives. He is survived by
one son, Thomas George Arnold of Saxton. Four sisters survive; Mrs. Jack
(Beverly) Seifert, Bedford; Mrs. Doug (Sandra) Goodhart, Chambersburg;
Mrs. Dave (Mary Ann) Ebersole, Osterburg; and Gail Lynne Scritchfield,
Bedford. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in
death by a brother, Edward, and a sister, Elaine Diehl. He was a member
of the Saxton VFW and the Saxton Sportsmen Association. During the
Korean Conflict, he served as an AMS 2 in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS
Essex. He was the owner/operator of Arnold's Marine Sales, James Creek,
for 25 years. Mr. Arnold enjoyed the outdoors, boats, gardening,
hunting, canning peppers and going to the barn. Funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral
Home, Broad Top City, with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating.
Interment will be made in St. Luke's Cemetery, Saxton, where full
military honors will be accorded.
