Peter Koch, a nine-year-old boy, who was known for his ability as a swimmer, 
was drowned while in bathing in the Schuylkill River, at Phoenixville, 
yesterday afternoon.  He was a resident of Grant Street, that borough.

Several hundred people were swimming at the point where the little lad was 
drowned. When he sank it was without struggle, and he did not again return to 
the surface.  The body was recovered withing (sic) a short time, but life was 
extinct.  It is believed he was overcome by the heat and was unconscious when 
he sank.

article spells the name KOCH.  It should be Coccia.
