Dr. James T. Cannon
Dr. James T. Cannon, son of the late Peter F. and Rachel T. Cannon, died Tuesday 
at his home 214 North Jackson Street, Media after a lingering illness.  He was 
61
Dr. Cannon was born in Oxford and after graduating from Oxford Highs School, 
entered the University of Pennsylvania, and received his degree in dental 
surgery.  After graduating he practiced in Oxford until the outbreak of World 
War I. He entered the army as a captain in the dental corps with the 4th 
division and was sent to France.

After Armistice he was transferred to the Army of Occupation in Germany where he 
remained until the following August.  N his return from service he opened an 
office in Media where he practiced until ill health caused his retirement in 
June 1950.  Dr. Cannon was a Past President of the Media Rotary Club.  He 
belonged to the American Legion, 40 and 8, the V.F.W. and the Delaware and 
Chester County Dental society.  He was director of Camp Sunshine, near media.

The deceased is survived by his wife the former Esther Wilkinson of Connecticut, 
a brother, Alex T. Cannon of Media, and two sisters, Katharine E. and Henrietta 
M. of Oxford.  His body will be taken to the National Cemetery at Arlington, Va. 
Today, where military services will be held and interment made at 3:30 this 
afternoon.
