BURTON- ON the 31st inst., Julia H., widow of William E. Burton, in her 85th 
year.  Services private at her late residence, No. 216 North New St., on 
Tuesday, the 3d inst.  Interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Julia Hepburn Burton passed to rest after a lengthy illness, Saturday 
evening, August 31, 1929, 6:50 p.m. Mrs. Burton, the widow of the late William 
E Burton, was the youngest sister of the late Moses G. Hepburn.  Mrs. Burton 
was born in Alexandra, Va., in the year 1844.  Her parents, Rev. Moses and 
Emily Hepburn, came North when Mrs. Burton was six years old.  She was 
carefully reared, and lived a devoted Christian life, a good neighbor and a 
loving mother to the following children:  Prudence L., William E., Walter B., 
Mattie V., Emily V., Gertrude L., and Viola May.  Julia, the youngest daughter, 
died when 18 years of age; also two passed away in infancy.  There are twenty-
one grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  Her late residence was 216 
North New Street, West Chester.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Julia Burton were held yesterday afternoon 
at her home, 316 North New Street, West Chester, and were largely attended by 
relatives and friends.  The interment was made at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 
Cottage Hill, east of the borough, where service was also held.  At the house 
the services were in charge of the Revs. J. R. Reid and McClain Spann and Mrs. 
Caroline Deery also spoke.  The pall bearers were Alban Burton, John Burton, 
Leon Anderson, Granville Anderson, LeRoy Patton and Howard Patton.
