Clifford A. Burton
At the age of 49 years, 7 months and 23 days, Clifford A. Burton, eldest son of 
Alban C. and Carrie H. Burton, died on Sunday in Oxford, after suffering for 
some time from dropsy.  He was born in Red Lion, living for a time in West 
Chester, and for the past six years had been in Oxford.  While here he was in 
the employ of Harry W. Robinson, West Gay Street.  In Oxford he worked for 
George L. Jones.  During the Spanish-American War, he went to the front as 
corporal of Co. L., Fourth Regiment, being mustered in at Fort Thomas, 
Kentucky, and after serving twenty-one months he was mustered out at Presidio, 
California.  He leaves two brothers, Wilbur T. and J. Fred Burton.

BURTON- in Oxford, on February 4, Clifford A. Burton, in the 50th year of his 
age.  Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend 
the funeral from Bethel A.M.E. Church on Wednesday, February 7.  Move at 2 
p.m.  Interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
